Configuring ClickView Library Server on a computer with multiple network connections
Applies to: ClickView Library Server Article ID: 0006 Last Review: 28/01/2010
If the ClickView Library Server is installed on a computer with two or more network cards or has a Network Card with more than one IP address , The ClickView Library Server will by default select the primary network card/IP address to listen for requests from client ClickView Players.
If the primary network card/IP address is not the network card connected to the LAN where the ClickView Players are located, then the requests for videos will not be served.
WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-wide problems that may require you to reinstall Windows to correct them. Microsoft does not guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your own risk.
To allow the ClickView Server to function with multiple network cards:
Step-by-Step Instructions
Exit ClickView Library Server
Click 'Start', then 'Run'
Type 'regedit', then click OK. Registry Editor will open.
Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > ClickView > ClickView Library NOTE: on 64-bit systems, this key will be located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > ClickView > ClickView Library
Alter the NIC value to the index-number of the network card/IP address which the ClickView Library Server should bind to.
In ClickView Library Server 1.6.0 (or above) further registry values 'NIC2', 'NIC3', 'NIC4' ... 'NIC16' can be added which will instruct the ClickView Library Server to listen for requests on up to 16 network interfaces - specified by their network interface index.
Close the Registry Editor
Open the ClickView Library Server interface
Click 'Stop Library Server' from the File menu
Click 'Start Library Server' from the File menu
