ClickView LinkStart for Mac OS X
ClickView LinkStart (formerly WebStart) is a ClickView feature that allows staff and students to directly access videos and resources via simple URLs.
ClickView LinkStart allows you to insert direct links to ClickView content into e-learning portals, intranet pages and your library cataloguing software. Thus you can easily integrate video into your existing learning tools, whilst utilising the power of the ClickView platform.
Setting up ClickView LinkStart for Mac OS X
It only takes 3 simple steps to insert a ClickView LinkStart URL into your webpage:
1. Open the ClickView Player and select the video you intend your students to watch.

2. Control-click on this video, select 'Generate ClickView LinkStart URL'.

3. Copy and Paste the URL into an intranet webpage, e-learning portal, or library cataloguing software.
If you would like to test the video before placing the URL into your webpage, simply click on "Go To URL".
NOTE: The ClickView LinkStart menu is only available from ClickView Player 1.3.1 and only to teachers and staff with authorisation to access the 'Staff Authentication' section in the ClickView Player.
When a user clicks on this link, the selected video will be automatically obtained from the ClickView Library Server and displayed to the user.

Alternatively, if you would like to open a resource from the ClickView Library Server, perform the following steps:
Open the ClickView Player and select the resource you intend for your students to read or use.

Control-click on this resource, select 'Generate ClickView LinkStart URL'.

Copy and Paste the URL into a webpage inside your intranet, e-learning portals, or library cataloguing software.
When a user clicks on this link, the selected resource will be automatically obtained from the ClickView Library Server and displayed to the user.
To use ClickView LinkStart each client will need to have following applications installed:
- ClickView Player 1.3.1 for Mac OS X and above. Click here to download the latest version.
- Internet Explorer 5.0, or equivalent, and above. Click here to download the latest version.
- Java runtime environment 1.3.1 and above. Click here to download the latest version.
