Article ID: 0196 Last Review: 25/05/2010
This article covers the steps which need to be carried out to prepare a system running Microsoft Windows Server 2008 for an installation of ClickView Library Server (Version 1.7.2.92 or above).
Note: ClickView Library Server does not support Windows Server 2008 Core installations as the GUI is required for the ClickView Library Server application.
Step 1 - Prerequisite Software
DivX 6.8.5 for Windows - Download Here Note: UAC ( User Account Control ) must be disabled on Windows Server 2008 for ClickView Library Server to be installed and configured correctly.
Step 2 - Installing Windows Server 2008 Desktop Experience component
The ClickView Library Server application requires some multimedia features that are not installed in a standard installation of Windows Server 2008 but are available in the Desktop Experience feature.
To install the feature please follow the numbered points below
Click Start and select Server Manager
When the Server Manager window appears, go to the left pane and select Features.
On the right, click the Add Features link.
Check the Desktop Experience checkbox
Click Next
Click Install
When the installation is complete, Windows will notify you that you must restart your server to complete the process.
After the Restart you will now see the Desktop Experience now grayed out and with (installed) written after it.
Now we are ready to install the ClickView Library Server Application.
