A common use of the ClickView Player is to present high quality digital video to a class using a data projector. The ClickView development team therefore set out to discover the optimal display configuration for using ClickView Player in combination with a data projector.
When using ClickView Player to present video to a class using a data projector, we strongly recommend extending your desktop onto the second display device (which in this case is the data projector). Once your desktop has been extended, your laptop screen will display the left-hand side of the desktop, whilst the projector will display the right-hand side of the desktop. Clearly, the means that anything displayed on the right-hand side of the desktop will be displayed to your class, whilst the left-hand side of the desktop can be used for material which you do not intend for your class to see (answer sheets, lesson plans, etc.)
Extending your desktop onto the data projector can be achieved by following these instructions:
Right-click on the Desktop, and select Properties. Select the Settings tab. Select display '2' by clicking on the 2nd monitor icon. Tick the 'Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor' checkbox.
Click 'Apply' and your desktop will now resemble the screenshot below:
Simply drag documents, images, webpages, and video from the left screen to the right screen or vice-versa to control exactly what your class will see.
Your dual screens can be configured to have differing resolutions. We recommend having your projector display on a resolution which ensures that your presentation content will be legible to your entire class. We recommend reducing the resolution down to 800 x 600 to ensure that all text is displayed clearly.
To reduce the display resolution to 800 x 600:
Right-click on the Desktop. and select Properties. Select the Settings tab. Select display '2' by clicking on the 2nd monitor icon. Now slide the Screen Resolution slider left until it reaches 800 x 600.
