This article explains how to use the ClickView Podcast Download Manager, a recent addition to the ClickView Library Server/Manager 1.6 range of products. For more information about Podcasting in general please visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podcasting.
Due to podcasting license technicalities - ClickView recommends that the Podcast Manager be made the mainstream podcast distribution application used within your school. For further information about the use of the Podcast Manager please read the following article.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Open the ClickView Library Server/Manager 1.6. Choose "Tools" from the top menu and select "Podcast Download Manager".
If you cannot see the "Podcast Download Manager" option, open the ClickView Library Server. Click "Tools" and "Options". Make sure the "Audio" option is checked in the "Supported Media Types" frame. Click "Apply" to finalise the changes. Restart 'Step1'.
Copy the URL address of the podcast you wish to download and paste it into the text box at the top of the application. Click "Add Feed". The channel is now added to the "Channels List".
If you cannot connect to the internet, it could be due to the fact that you have not configured your proxy server settings. Please read the following knowledgebase article to resolve this issue.
Click on the channel. A list of all available streams to download can be viewed in the "Available Episodes" list.
Double-Click on the episode you wish to download and click on the "Download Management" tab. Here you can follow the progress of the download from the "Transfer Queue" list.
Once the download has completed, the stream is added to the "Downloaded Episodes" list. Here you can keep track of the episodes you have downloaded.
Clicking on the "Podcast Management" tab will allow you to sort the downloaded podcast episodes into the ClickView Library. Simply drag the episode from the "Podcast Library" into the "ClickView Library" to place it into the ClickView Library Server.
You can now access the downloaded podcasts via the ClickView Player 1.6.
